He woke up with tears and sweat streaming down his face and his throat aching terribly. The sheets were tangled around his leg, and he was all but breathless. Boba stifled a small cry as he sat up straight. Slowly he regained his composure, but the image was still vivid in his mind.
It was only a dream, Boba tried to tell himself. Only it wasn't. It was real.
The more Boba tried to forget about the dream, shake it off his thoughts and get some rest, the worse he felt. There was little to no chance he would get any more sleep tonight. He was too restless. The room began to feel cold and empty, and Boba hugged his knees in the darkness while squeezing his eyes shut. Why, why couldn't the past just stay in the past?
